Media Mountain from Medical Molehill in Depression Treatment Research

I have been known to republish the very occasional article that first appears here in the Health Gazette elsewhere in cyberspace. However, this time I am republishing the following having posted it on a personal blog which I happened to be viewing when I read the media release to which I refer below. So forgive the repetition, if you will.

Can you believe the headlines: "New hope for people with therapy-resistant depression" they declare. Given the epidemic proportions of depression globally one can understand that the condition is topical and therefore newsworthy. Such a headline however, seems quite absurd.

Health Gazette Ezine Edition April 2007 Available April 1st

I am delighted to announce that the April edition of the Health Gazette Ezine will be published on time. It will be released today, April 1st, as scheduled.

This month's main article by Dr Jenny Tylee is titled Medical Drugs Interactions. Jenny briefly explains just what is meant by this phrase and then gives some common examples. The bottom line, as you might expect, is advice to only take drugs that are really necessary and to take as few as possible for as short as possible. This, of course, is exactly opposite to what drug companies preach but that should be what you would expect.
